The Lead Machine Setup Specialist plays a key role in the efficiency and flow of the production output. This role has a primary responsibility for setting up Lettershop jobs so that our operators may gain the highest levels of productivity from our equipment. This position also is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues for the lettershop operators on Flowmaster inserting systems, swing arm inserting systems, Ink Jet systems, Tabbers and Folders. In addition, this position will assign and direct machine operators to tasks and jobs that need to be completed, on a daily basis (especially in the absence of the Production Manager).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely and thorough set ups of equipment to ensure maximum production.
  • Assist operators with machine problems when needed.

  • Proactively offer advice and training to operators so that they are better equipped to achieve their production goals.

  • Report all equipment and personnel issues to your manager or shift supervisor in a timely manner so that actions can be taken to correct the problem.

  • Perform basic maintenance of equipment as directed by your manager.

  • Bring forth ideas that you feel may increase productivity to manager or shift supervisor for discussion.

  • Assist with operating equipment when needed.

  • Set up Lettershop machinery for the operators such as Flowmaster inserting systems, swing arm inserting systems, Ink Jet systems, Tabbers and Folders.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues for the operators.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve set-ups, procedures and process documentation.

  • Perform tooling and part changings when needed.

  • Perform required preventative maintenance.

  • Monitor lettershop equipment for proper operation during manufacturing.

  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.
